Scéalta Mháirtín Neile

Máirtín Neile Ó Conghaile (c. 1824-1904) was a well-known storyteller in Aran.  This book is a collection of 39 tales collected from him in 1895. The collector was Holger Pedersen (1867-1953), from Denmark, who came to Aran to learn Irish. Scholars were previously aware of Pedersen's linguistic work but unaware of this collection of tales until the notes were discovered by the editor, Ole Munch-Pedersen, in the Royal Library in Copenhagen.
